3 people.
7 billion reasons.

With global population having surpassed 7 billion people, all producing large amounts of waste every day in both homes and industry, the staggering impact on the environment is impossible to ignore.

We urgently need to convert this waste in to sustainable products and cleaner ways of coping with the demand for energy so our economy and world can cope now and in the future.

This clear conviction led 3 individuals to establish Enerbi. It became clear the founders all shared a passion for sustainable solutions to waste and energy challenges. They asserted that in Australia, Asia and the surrounding island nations there was an under-utilisation of biomass and waste streams and that current solutions were dated and inefficient.

Enerbi now applies innovative process engineering to create value from biomass and waste streams. This includes extraction of high value components, development of new products and application of biomass conversion technology for heat and power production.

The controllable output of biomass energy systems coupled with innovative integration of batteries, solar, wind and the storage of hot/cold thermal energy allows us to deliver completely renewable energy solutions that maximise self-sufficiency, environmental benefit and minimise cost.

Since 2014, Enerbi has continuously looked to enlarge this application, explore new methods and expand its founding vison.

About The Team

We are a close knit team with a focus on developing innovative and sustainable biomass/waste solutions.

Originally meeting in Brisbane, Enerbi have established a Head Office in Launceston, Tasmania, an office in Perth, WA and a satelite office in Bundaberg.

Shayne Murphy, Chairman

Shayne’s background in the Tasmanian forestry industry led him to serve in the Australian Federal Senate for 11 years. He has extensive experience conducting business in China and the Pacific Islands. His hobbies include fishing and if he’s not working, he is most likely reeling in a fish in some remote wilderness around the world.

Andras Nagy, Project Lead

Andras had an extensive apprenticeship in creative industrial solutions: he grew up on a property where he and his dad built the family house using timber from the property, then built a hydro turbine to power it. Now an environmental engineer, Andras develops and delivers innovative, cost effective and high-quality solutions to unique problems makes him an excellent lead for our project delivery operations. He brings with him extensive contacts with Eastern Europe manufacturers.

Karne de Boer, Chief Technology Officer

Karne has a PHD in Process Engineering as well as degrees in instrumentation and control, and renewable energy engineering. He has significant experience designing and building bio-processing and thermal plants from scratch, and leads Enerbi’s technical development projects through his continuing association with Murdoch University.

Karne’s enjoys devising a new approach to a client’s problem, convert this into a design concept and take this all the way through to product development and execution.
